Youth Group Classes

About This Class

Our six-week introductory fencing class is perfect for enthusiastic beginners who want to have fun while learning the basics of fencing. Class is limited to 12 students. Boys and girls are welcome, and all equipment is provided at no extra charge!

Students will learn about fencing, receive lessons, and participate in footwork drills. The class stresses the importance of footwork and students will learn to combine footwork with blade skills. Most importantly, this class is an opportunity to have fun, make friends, and discover a very cool new sport.

What's Included

• 6 weeks of group instruction from experienced coaches
• All fencing equipment provided (mask, jacket, glove, weapon)
• Footwork drills, blade skills, and practice bouts
• Just bring comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers

What to Expect

Each class begins with a warm-up and footwork drills, followed by blade skill instruction and practice bouts. Classes are structured so students build on what they learned the previous week. By the end of the six weeks, your child will know the fundamentals of fencing and be ready to join regular club sessions if they want to continue.

What to Bring

• Comfortable athletic clothing (long pants and a t-shirt work great)
• Athletic shoes with non-marking soles (no sandals or open-toed shoes)
• A water bottle
